https and ipv6

We are now reachable via IPv6, courtesy of freenet6.net, or via https, or via both.

We run the Plan 9 distributed operating system, 4th edition, on almost all the collyer.net systems. We benefit from the upas mail system and dns nameserver, rather than the hoggish security disasters sendmail and BIND. We also benefit from the lack of Microsoft's bugs. We run the Plan 9 cpu servers and terminals diskless, from our main file system on a cached HP write-once optical-disc jukebox driven by a 64-bit descendant of the amazing Plan 9 file server (the original, pre-fossil and pre-venti one).

Our systems contain no TCPA-infected components. TCPA is also known as Palladium and NGSCB.
